I remember years ago, learning about the
cherry trees that were a gift from Japan
to the US in the early 1900's, which now
grow in Washington D.C. For some reason
that stuck in my head, and after doing a
tree spirit a few weeks back with rose quartz
leaves, I realized they would make some
really wonderful cherry blossoms for a future
tree spirit. The idea about making the spirit
herself Japanese really was serendipity,
but something I think came off beautifully.
This geisha tree holds a fan made from
spider webs woven between her branch fingers.
She stands approximately 11 inches tall
including her base. Her leaves are natural
rose quartz gemstone beads, each meticulously
wired together.
Her face is hand sculpted from polymer
clay, and the trunk and branches are sculpted
from apoxie sculpt. Her base is decorated
with natural rocks and mosses, and she is
mounted on a wood base hand stained with
red mahogany.
