Alador

Sold

Alador, unlike most of my other guys, takes his responsibilities seriously. He is a shepherd of sorts, but doesn't herd sheep. Instead he tends a flock of caterpillars, and he loves them all dearly.

He carries a bow and arrows to defend his charges from birds or other predators, although he normally just fires warning shots to scare them away, since he isn't really fond

of harming any living things. However, his flock comes first and he strives to make sure they live to pupate and become butterflies and moths.

He comes with three of his "friends", a woolly worm, a monarch caterpillar, and one from my own imagination. Alador, like all of my creations is a one of a kind original sculpture made from polymer clay and will never be reproduced.

In addition to his three friends, his bow, arrows and quiver are separate and removable. The quiver is simply tied on with two leather thongs, and like his gauntlets, hat and bow, are decorated with gold paint. The arrows are actually toothpicks covered with polymer clay to give you a general idea of their size, and fletched with real feathers. The arrowheads are painted polymer clay and are held on (visually speaking) with waxed cording to simulate sinew, and look like knapped obsidian (see below). His bow is strung with waxed cording and is given strength by a strong armature.

Alador's clothes are made from cotton (his knee pants) and his shirt of leather, and has boots fashioned out of polymer clay. He wouldn't want to step barefooted in caterpillar poop you know.

His skin is the natural color of the clay with a light blushing of acrylics to give him a more natural look. His hair is made of feathers. Alador is approximately 6 inches in his sitting position, but would be closer to 13 inches if he were standing.
